I would recommend hostgator, bluehost, hostmonster. Avoid JustHost. Our sites got hacked many times when hosted with JustHost. There might be security flaws with them.

I find smaller web hosts usually will look after you better.
My websites have been hosted with http://www.fastwayhost.com for years, and they have been best best host. They also use Cpanel as their control panel which will make everything easier to manage!

You can’t really trust those online review 100%. Those big companies have so many customers, there must be a few of them that are not happy with the service. Also, what works for me might not work for you too.

You need to see what’s you want the most. Hostgator is cheap but they don’t have the fastest server and connection speed. For VPS there are different company that is better than big name like godaddy/dreamhost

I have several web sites for myself and a few that were done for other people. I have only tried a couple of hosting services, but right now I am leaning towards ones that have cPanel and some free analytics. You can get free analytics at Google Analytics, which I also use, but I like the ones I get with my hosting service, also for free. Right now I am using JustHost, but there are many hosting services with cPanel and free analytics. FindAHostingSite is a web site with some useful tips about hosting services. It is an affiliate promotion web site, but it doesn’t really promote one service over another and there are additional help pages, especially for someone new to web hosting. Also, there are some hosting services that have very good tutorial videos and usually you don’t even have to be using their services to have free access the videos.
